The sound material for Ricercare per Nacchini was recorded during a residency on San Servolo, Venice, as part of the Registri festival organized by Michele del Prete. The annual four-week event centres on the 1745 Nacchini organ in the island's chapel, with organists and composers being invited to work with the instrument and give a concert. The piece develops similar themes to Passacaglias for Organ, exploring the timbral, harmonic, and intervallic relationships between the organ's twelve stops. Programme notes are available below:
